You can access qDex’s info by going to the “tag info” menu item in qDex’s interface, or you can use the file->info dialog for the item you want to query.
You can see the full tag information of a song/album/file stored in a database with the “info” dialog.
qDex can add, edit or remove tags from mp3 and ogg files without having to re-tag the files.
When you find the tag you are looking for, you can select it in the dialog and qDex will automatically update/create all the tags you selected.
The result is that you can add any tags you wish, even if qDex itself doesn’t know them yet, or if the files haven’t been indexed yet.
QDex also has cross-referencing capabilities, for a vast catalog. You can search the whole database by the name of the file you are currently editing or querying, and find the id of the file you are editing. You can use this id to look up the same file in another catalog.
qDex can also suggest the location of the files you are currently querying or editing.
qDex can use a refference to a freedb collection. Queries over freedb information can be based on title, artist, or composer and you can set up full search queries, more extensive than with freedb’s internal search. In addition to freedb queries, all your local files, cataloged or not, can be searched.
