The basic idea behind AutoCAD is the separation of the design process into two parts: 1) creation of the design (drawing) and 2) editing. The creation of a design is handled by an application called the drawing editor. The PowerBI Add-in allows the drawing created in the drawing editor to be opened in a PowerBI™ data visualization application. Each drawing is also associated with a set of component files called an “asset library.” The PowerBI Add-in allows drawings to be stored and accessed in the asset library. The content in the asset library can be edited and formatted using PowerBI.
The content of the asset library can be published to PowerBI using the PowerBI Service. This is achieved using the PowerBI Service and an application called the PowerBI Service API. Press “CTRL”+“ALT”+“T” to start the program.
In the program main window, under the File menu, click on the New icon, located on the main menu.
In the New File dialog box, type Autocad and click Ok.
Next, click on Open, located on the main menu.
Under the List folder, click on the New Folder icon, located on the main menu.
Type I1_Support, located in the upper left corner of the list and click on it.
Click on the Save As…, located on the main menu.
In the Save as type window, type I1_Support and click on it.
In the Save as location window, set the location to where you want to save the file (For example, c:\autocad) and click on OK.
Now, your Autocad has a new folder named I1_Support.
Close the Autocad main program and double-click on I1_Support.
You should see the folder icon with the words “Master,” “Support,” and “Schematic” in blue.
Double-click on I1_Support and notice the words “Master”, “Support”, and “Schematic” under the blue folder.
Now that you have Autocad you can save the file to a disk or network folder.
Close the I1_Support folder and open another Autocad program to view the file you just created.
A word of advice: you should not save the file to your Autocad folder as it will corrupt the version of Autocad that you are using.

AutoCAD now supports import of markup that’s embedded in a PDF document. You can use this import functionality to automatically import the generated graphic into your current drawing without first creating a new drawing, if you know how the graphic will be used. The graphic needs to be designed to fit in your drawing, to allow for correct alignment and to be print ready. If you’re interested in using this feature, check out the video to see how it works.
This feature is especially useful for templates that contain several markup fields. For example, a professional CAD industry standard product is a template that automatically loads an external drawing with the product geometry from the drawing you’re working on and then displays product features in the template design window. But if you’re using the template only for a drawing, you’ll have to save the template first, import the external drawing, and then load the template again to get the features working.
Import from PDF
With this update, you can now import directly from a PDF document and make changes in the drawing without creating a new drawing. You can also import from other documents that contain the same markup as the PDF document. If the PDF document has content controls, the content is preserved in the import file. Import of a PDF document also preserves the link information between the imported object and other drawings.
