Pre-AutoCAD years

Originally called the Programming Cartridge, AutoCAD was a software application first written by Scott Drape and John Ferraiolo in March 1980 as a replacement for the existing Inventor product that Autodesk was offering.

Initially released as an IBM PC compatible running on an 80286 processor and a CGA graphics card, it was developed to support Autodesk’s Object Spreadsheet product, which was a spreadsheet program used for the drafting of architectural drawings.

AutoCAD R1

AutoCAD R1 was released in December 1982 as a $25,000 CAD application for the PC, with an optional interface for the 1K microcomputer. It was the first personal computer based CAD application and had a built-in drafting component for engineering design. Its first release supported three drafting standards and drawing data up to 300K.

Its debut at the International Graphis Conference in October 1983 was heralded as the “full featured CAD product on the PC”.

AutoCAD R2 was the first version of AutoCAD to be released on a CD-ROM. It was in development from February 1984 until April 1985 and shipped for the first time in June 1985.

AutoCAD R3 was released in September 1988 and had a GUI that was more intuitive. At the time of the release, it had a stronger graphical editing tool than rivals such as MicroStation.

AutoCAD for Windows 3.0 and 3.1 was released in December 1990 and was based on the graphical editing and drafting features of AutoCAD R3. It supported 256 colours on the screen and had many drawing and editing tools. This version also introduced the Windows application.

AutoCAD versions from AutoCAD R2 until AutoCAD LT R4

AutoCAD R4 was released in March 1992, and introduced a more object-based graphical interface and a number of improvements to the programming architecture.

AutoCAD R5

AutoCAD R5 was released in April 1995 and added a powerful object browser and 64-bit memory addressing, which made the software more scalable and dynamic. It also introduced the “command line” interface, which allowed greater control of the software.

AutoCAD 2000

AutoCAD 2000 was released in October 1995 and introduced a new

AutoCAD also supports the exchange of drawing information between Windows applications and AutoCAD; the drawing format is the native format supported by AutoCAD.

AutoCAD uses an image-based approach to rendering objects in 3D. It employs the concept of “wireframe” and “face” rendering, in which the user defines what will be displayed for each face of an object. AutoCAD is delivered with a set of default drawing types (e.g., walls, doors, cabinets, tables) that are used by the designer, but can also be changed to add or remove features. Objects can be grouped, and various views can be adjusted. For example, a door can be rotated and then the width or length of the door can be adjusted to align it with the wall or any other object. The display area of the drawing can be maximized or minimized. AutoCAD provides a large number of input/output commands that allow the designer to control the drawing, including tool selection, dimensioning, annotating, and editing. AutoCAD has basic electronic mail features allowing internal and external emailing of documents and drawings. AutoCAD also supports external collaboration via a web-based drawing workspace.

AutoCAD environments
AutoCAD and other Autodesk products have a command line interface and an API for software development.

AutoCAD can be used from within an operating system that is able to support the command line interface. The newest versions of Windows, OS X and Linux have command-line interfaces and can run AutoCAD natively. By running AutoCAD natively on a compatible operating system, a user can avoid many of the limitations of using the command line interface. Many developers prefer to use a graphical user interface, as this allows for greater efficiency and a faster workflow.

The AutoCAD “lobby” is a view that displays the user interface elements of AutoCAD. A typical AutoCAD lobby is a window with a title bar, icons for menus, and a toolbar. Views can be assigned to different layers in the drawing. Views can be stacked, minimized, or maximized. If the view is maximized, objects are visible that would normally be hidden by other views.

The lobby is the primary window on which users perform drawing activities. There is also the drawing area where the user makes the actual drawing. This area can be split into three areas: the status bar at the top, the drawing area for drawing

IPad Hacked – anarbadalov

This is a tricky situation for Apple. A rogue app could be more annoying than
it’s worth, but if it was a true hack and the dev was released from Apple’s
website, then Apple will be legally responsible. Apple already has a
commitment to user security, and that’s only going to increase, especially
with Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. Apple’s best approach would be to find the dev and
extend a grace period.

If you believe this article, it sounds like it was one guy.

To reply to a lot of people who think I’m implying this was a false flag
operation or even government operation: I can’t get the information from this

How does it work? It just means you can see the screen, but you can’t control
it? Maybe something like that, but that’s basically it.

I don’t know. How does a hack actually work? I can’t find any details, even

What’s New In?

Speed up your output with faster markups and more efficient layout workflow. Simply fill in the AutoCAD drawing to match a real-world situation or try a completely different plan. (video: 3:30 min.)

Linking is easier than ever

Faster and easier than ever, you can link to the drawings and parametric objects in your other drawings. Simply choose the drawing or objects you want to link to, and click Link. (video: 2:30 min.)

You can now link to 3D models, architectural models, and other drawings. (video: 3:30 min.)

Reduced file size of 3D models:

Save models up to 10X smaller than before, reducing the size of model files and increasing efficiency when sending models over networks.

Apply AutoCAD Drawings to other applications:

Apply AutoCAD Drawings to other applications, like AutoCAD-compatible applications or other AutoCAD applications. This lets you collaborate more efficiently and control your data more effectively. (video: 2:30 min.)

Hover over the changes in AutoCAD Drawings:

When you make changes in your AutoCAD Drawings, you can now hover over the changes and automatically see how they affect the model.
